Science Fair

"Wandering the Earth With Open Minds"

Last Saturday, March 23, I took part in the science fair. It felt nostalgic because it was my first encounter, but this time as a teenager. It brought back many childhood memories, as the school had previously held a similar program. I missed that feeling and felt like a youngster again. I was excited and looking forward to
what might happen. I was taken aback by how similar everything seemed to previously, and it felt like I was traveling back in time.

We completed three activities, each with a distinct content, and my favorite was the second one. The first activity was a "Space Dome" in which we were instructed to squat. We were basically participating and listening to Kuya as he explained the "brief history of life". My favorite aspect of the activity was when Kuya explained astrology. The second activity focused more on the world and its climatic change. It offered many experiments for us to try, which is why I enjoyed it the best. I wasn't sure what it was called, but we were all ordered to stand and divide ourselves into two groups. We were requested to hold our

hands, and someone was asked to contact a metal. I'm not sure what it was called, but when she touched it, we all had no idea what would happen, and then we were shocked. This was quite startling and left us stunned. The third activity focused on Mars and how it has the potential to be the future Earth. After the discussion, we simply enjoyed all of their experiments. The "Hand Boiler" experiment, which was the second activity, was really amazing because of how the water would rise to the top when you inserted your hand into the bottom after it had heated. I saw that the reason it occurred was that a hand's temperature was sufficient to make the liquid bubble and appear to boil.

I enjoyed the science fair. It was a real eye-opener, especially for those who are unfamiliar with what is going on in the world today. It wasn't just a scientific fair with experiments; it was a science fair from which we could learn a lot. They are becoming more knowledgeable and conscious of current events. After leaving the fair, I learned a lot about how climate change is highly serious and how it impacts our planet, as well as how NASA is already working to find a means to make water exist on Mars in case our planet Earth does not make it and survive.

I'd want to thank my school and Wandering Minds for making the scientific fair a success. This is an experience I will remember and treasure. I not only had fun, but also learnt a lot. It's also good to see the lower levels excited and smiling after the scientific fair. I sincerely appreciate all of your work in this matter.
